Default 1950 Ford Steering Box Rebuild

Hi All,
Would anyone know of an instruction guide for rebuild of a 1950 Ford Steering box. The Green Book is ok but not great on the topic.

Thanks, Steve

There are several sources, info on Van Pelt's site. Number of articles written on the topic and Vern's mini-book.

Van Pelt's site has five pages of instructions,

Link does't work , go to Van Pelt sales/parts drawings and look under steering gear.

That is the Ford Green Book version, my mesh seems to be off a tad. Trying to find another explanation of how the gears mesh during assembly. Thinking that the key-way in the steering shaft should be exactly 180 off from the pitman arm notch..?

I told you elsewhere but here goes. With the steering wheel centered the steering arm should be pointed straight back. Both the wheel go on splines so I'm not sure what you are callling the key. There is a deviation in the spline that only lets the wheel and arm go on one way. Anyway put your box together and put the wheel and the arm on. Center the wheel and that is where the key at the top should be. Look at the steering arm. If your arm is off 20 degrees then your key at the bottom should be 20 degrees from where it is. So that is what you shoot for.
