clam shell
It looks like I need to replace my u joint...
Anyway, I didn't see gaskets in the joint between the two clam shell halves. Is this the case? |

Re: clam shell
Should be two gaskets and a seal in the clam shell assembly that houses the U joint and attaches the torque tube to the back of the transmission. A paper gasket between the clam shell halves and the inner bell, and another of the same paper gasket between the inner bell, and the rear transmission mount, plus a seal of cork, fabric, O ring, or rubber tubing in the groove of the clam shell halves that rides against the belled end of the torque tube. Pictures attached of two types of gasket kits.....
