Default 1940 for turn light bulbs 12 volt

Working on 40 van headlights. 12 volt light bulbs for parking/turning light bulbs. It appears that the bulbs socket is set up for "straight across" notches. All I can find is off set notches for this bulb. Do I need to change sockets or where can I buy the straight across notched bulb. Kind of slow but I am tring. Thanks, David

If you are using the parking light sockets for the turn signals only there are small bulbs available for mini bikes. They are 23W, orange and have straight across pins.
I used these on my 41 pickup.
I used replacement headlamp units with side lights (parking lights) built in.

I did a video on it.

The dual filament, 12v brake/tail light bulbs that you want with STRAIGHT-ACROSS pins are 1176 bulbs. That socket with the STRAIGHT-ACROSS pins is called a "BA15D" socket (NOT a BAY15D).

When I do that sort of conversion, I change the sockets to the offset pins. Reason is, those sockets also have a guide for the fiber wire base so it can not move when you twist the bulb in place. If you google "bulb sockets", you will find Industrial outfits with thousands of choices to see what will work out best for your application
