Once is one time too many. Some idiots will steal anything.
As a broke college student in '70 I had a beat up 4dr '60 Corvair that I paid $200 for. It was 3 shades of black with a dented right front fender (courtesy of a previous owner). Came out of class one evening and it was gone, no way to get 15 miles home. Had to walk across campus to the police station to report it. Five blocks later I found it sitting in the middle of the street. In their hot-wiring haste the thief had shorted something out and killed the battery. A jump-start later and I was on my way. With a new job & saving my dollars that year I got a brand new '71 Mercury Comet. |
