Re: lug nut removal
Why do you need a video to show you how to take off lug nuts?

Please read your title, you ask about lug nuts. The question in the post was edited after I posted.

Re: lug nut removal
“According to Google”.
The lug that shows up in lug nut or lug wrench doesn't seem to be directly connected. Instead, it comes from a word that meant a projecting part. Originally, it came from a Scandinavian word that meant the ear flap of a cap, or the ear itself. In the 1930s, lug also meant a lout, a sponger, a bozo, and a lowlife. |

Re: lug nut removal
Probably comes from when using wood wheels, like on a Model T, there is a lug that goes between the wheel rim and the felloe of the wood wheel, and the "lug nut" tightens down against the lug.
Couldn't find a picture. In Canada we just call them wheel nuts.

Quote:
The swage cutter I use slides over the threaded portion of the hub bolt and is turned slowly in a knee milling machine. The cutter slowly removes the area of the hub bolt where the bolt was riveted. Once this is complete, the bolt can be tapped thru the backside of the hub. |

Re: lug nut removal
Yes, wheel nuts on wheel studs here too, just like manifold nuts on manifold studs. Strange!
