DavidG - Thank you sir. You have helped me a lot.

deuce lover - Thank you sir for your help too. But first I want to find a Ford 1933/1934 Fordor Sedan for sale and then I would buy a book that will help me with renovations. I know how it worked with the Ford Model A that most people went from Standard to Deluxe versions. They could do the same with the Ford Model 40.

Sorry for the above Post. I misread this Thread and added pictures of the 1940 Fords instead of the Model 40 Fords, which are 1933 and 1934. My Mistake.

Here are some photographs from Ford's U.S. archives showing three of the various '33 and '34 door pulls. I've no photo of the '34 standard window molding with the raised lip, nor one of the late '34 arrangement when the inside door handle was relocated from near the front of the door to the center of the door.

Also included is an archives photo of a '33 equipped with side-mounted spare tires. The same arrangement was also offered as an extra cost option for the '34 models.

DavidG - was the spare tire cover the same for 1933-1935? The year 1935 had a lock.

deuce lover - but there are more for sale in the US than in Europe and I would like a LHD. There will be many for sale at MECUM.

Yes many more for sale in the USA. Do your research as many for sale do not always have the correct parts. The UK is RHD.Rest of Europe is LHD.The locking hubcap was introduced in 1932.I'll let David talk about the spare tire cover.
You now can place an ad in the Swap Meet wanted section here.A FordBarn member might have one or know of a 4dr for sale.

Only at the moment I don't have anyone who would buy the car that petehoovie sent me. Because the person who drives cars to Europe has a vacation.

Please does anyone on this forum have a 1933/1934 Ford that has a spare tire in the fenders? If you could send me some photos. Thank you.

Side Mounted Spare Wheel Holders - Right and Left. Note that both Brackets are stamped "L" from the Ford Factory which is a mistake, as one is for the Right side and one for the Left side. The painted Bracket should have been stamped "R" as it is for the right hand Side Mounted Spare Wheel.

The Side Mounted Spare Wheel never fitted correctly on this, my other 1934 Ford, as it had the incorrect Right Hand Bracket marled "L" fitted. This car now has the correct Left Hand Bracket fitted.

Finding a spare tire bracket and cover is very difficult to find? Because there are not many side mounted cars for sale.
