Default Throwout bearing chirping

The throwout bearing was working quietly when I pulled the engine for rebuild a few years ago. Some of the available replacements were suspect at the time so I followed the "it ain't broke" rule.

Now it is chirping when the clutch is depressed. It is going to have to get a lot worse for me to pull the engine. In the mean time, is there any way to put lubricant on it through the inspection port on the transmission? If so, what should I use?
