Default 8BA con rod nuts

The connecting rod cap nuts in my 8BA didn't have any form of lock washers, should they?
What is the best way reassemble them?

There is no need for any lockwasher or other "locking" method if the studs are correctly stretched. The ARP nuts for small block Chevy with 3/8 studs work fine. Of course, the stock Ford hardware is completely acceptable.
