Default 5 main aluminum, warts and all.

Just for fun, while I am getting ready for the real 5 main blocks, I cast a 5 main aluminum block with cut in 2nd and 4th journals. I expected flaws, and there are a few minor ones, but, over all it isn't bad.

Very nice work, Todd.
While I was looking at the block, I had a brain wave - actually lucky to be a splash. Did you give any thought to enlarging the inlet ports and valves? I figure that with 5 main bearings, these engines will be strong enough to do stuff I wouldn't do to an original block. (Read get more power).

If there are enough orders I can make special cores just for such occasions. I can also make blocks for OHV heads that eliminate the ports in the block.

Tod, I would be interested in a 5 mains aluminum block for an OHV head, especially if Scat can supply a crank to suit.

Jay McCord gave me info to contact the owner of Scat about cranks.

Email me and I will send you screen shots of the 5 main models so you have an idea what it will look like.
