Default Different 100th anniversary car show

Went to a different 100th anniversary car show today, the 100th anniversary of Naval Station San Diego "the second largest surface ship base of the United States Navy ... located in San Diego, California. Naval Base San Diego is the principal homeport of the Pacific Fleet, consisting of over 50 ships." Wasn't just a car show, it was really a small car show attached to the 100th anniversary event.

Got tours of the USS Fitzgerald (DDG-62) and USS Michael Monsoor (DDG-1001). Awesome!

As usual, my car was the only flathead. Talked to several people who admired my 80 year old original car.

While standing in line for one of the ship tours, I mentioned the car show to the guy next to me. He pulled a Mooneyes sticker out of his pocket and asked if I'd ever heard of Mooneyes. Of course i had! He identified himself as Dean Moon Jr. and said his father Dean Moon Sr. had started the company.

It was a good day!

Wish I'd been there with you! I'd love to see what that modern ship looks like at full speed. I'm thinking the bow wave would be unique. What a great day it sounds like.
