Default Musings About Ford Branches That Assembled Cars

we have a building here that was a Branch that did assemble cars...Dear Old Dad said the back lot was empty in the early morning, full of cars later on.

I know they assembled cars but I wonder if chassis etc. arrived assembled or what. It is a large building but I would assume painting new cars would consume huge space for that process.

Also the Branch would have to store large amounts of parts, both for assembly and service.

I am aware Branches gave tours, at least some did, just wondering how they could put together a new car, or did bodies arrive assembled but not painted, etc.

Hello, I think the sedan bodies from Briggs and Murray were painted at there factories ,Fenders probably arrived painted also.Hoods would have to be painted to match, the judging standards even mentioned a mismatch of color because of that. The railroads of that era had specially dedicated cars just for the auto service.

Briggs and Murray delivered assembled bodies that were painted and upholstered.
