Default Pin for Service Brake Levers

When inserting the pin that secures the rear service lever to the brake camshaft is that pin cold riveted, hot riveted or merely driven in?

Thanks, you guys sure take the stress out of the job.

Thanks Bob.....one more question if you will.

Are the rivets heated before insertion to avoid transferring heat to the hardened cam?

I do them cold, using a vice, but it isn't the normal houshold vice, the idea is to swell the shank of the rivit to fill the hole, not just pein over the ends, it can be done in a press, heating the end of the rivit is a method to have the metal move easy without having heavy tools, but it won't swell the rivit the same as the factory installed rivit, to preheat the rivit you will need to be fast and accurate in inserting it into the hole, perhaps have a dummy pin in from the other side to keep the alignment, practice the motions before heating the rivit so you can have all the pieces in handy places

The kid and I did a cold insert today using the shop press to first expand the rivet then peening it over with a hammer. Looks good. Thanks for the help.
