Hello, 1936 Ford Phaeton originilly cames with hydraulics or mechanical brakes?

Mechanical. 1939 was the first year for hydraulics.

there were no Ford hydraulic brake systems until the 1939 models.

1936 was the last year for mechanical brakes with brake rods. The 1937 and 1938 Fords used cables instead of rods. The brakes on my 1937 Fordor work great. They are quite “touchy” though so it is easy to lock up the wheels.
