Bronze screws
Hi Guys,
I'm restoring a Pick-Up Roadster 1928 and I found bronze screws on the dash rail and on the Instrument Panel. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Are bronze screws originals or post '28 ? Thanks in advance for your comments. Charlie Saguier

Re: Bronze screws
Suspect the plating just wore off, and your wire brushing did the rest. The screws on my '29 were mostly brass color after cleaning.

Re: Bronze screws
In US-made 1928 cars they were/are nickel-plated brass. Most dealers carry them.

Re: Bronze screws
nickel plated brass, just as the windshield swing arms.
i rubbed some clean then dipped em in muriatic acid. they came out so nice, i just sprayed clear over them. you can't go wrong with brass, really shows your age. |

I guess the bronze screws were original. To be honest are a very good screws. I don't think I could find such nice screws in the market in these days. Cheers, Charlie
