Default Start of another 32 project

Long story short, talking with a person at a local swap meet who was looking at a 32 pickup instrument tunnel that I was selling. He just bought a 32 pickup and was taking it off the original frame to put on a GMC Sonoma 4 wheel drive chassis, so I asked what he was doing with the original. I brought it home a couple of days ago along with 5 stock wheels and motor plus some extras. Frame and front axle are gonna need some work. Need to go through the motor and missing some parts on it as well. Plans are to build a banger powered traditional highboy roadster but know that the chances of finding an original body are slim to nil so will have to be a Brookville body.

Without them, the market for garbage truck engines would not be there.

Frame has some slight damage on the front of the right rail so apart for straightening. The front and rear cross members were bolted in many years ago. Rusty bolts made it a challenge but the K member was a little easier drilling out the rivets. In the cue at #victoryrodandcustom for some massaging.

=================================================

you're right , Lots of Street Rodders do use those garbage truck
engines, BUT so do A LOT of Race Car owners, and A LOT of those
worthless Corvette's have those garbage truck engines in 'em too
What's Wrong with ALL Those People anyway

On the wall awaiting straightening and crack repairs. Plans are to reuse all 3 cross members and have them reinstalled with rivets if possible. Gathering parts for a traditional roadster build and may change if my 32 pickup sells.

I suspect you will have to get a DMV number on the car if the owner you bought it from is using the original ownership papers on his new project.

Maybe you will get lucky, and that VIN is not in use already. Most DMVs now have access to all the other states. How did you get it into Canada? I have sold several cars and parts to people in BC and all insisted on paperwork for the VIN going across the border.
Canada had very different VIN numbers. I sold a 34 sedan delivery originally from up there to someone in BC and the frame had a VIN that started with C18H.......

You better hope the guy you bought it from isn't planning on registering it using the original Ford "VIN". If you didn't get a good title with it, I'll bet he does. I know nothing about Canada, but down here, a vehicle must meet all federal regulations in force when it was built. That would probably make using the VIN from the Sonoma problematic, so.....

Highly doubtful he will be using the vin. No registration plus long story short, he knows nothing in regards to 32’s hence the reason the cab, box, fenders and boards are going on the Sonoma chassis.
