Default I maybe going to do something I never thought I would do

That is to sell my beloved Model A Sense moving to GA and buying a small farm all my time has been devoted caring for the farm and horses. If you are anyone that has owned horses than you know the work is constant, now don't get me wrong I enjoy the work and horses very much and I think in the end it may add sometime time to my life.( if I can keep from falling off

But to be honest I have lost interest in the car and I have other needs for my situation(like a nice new Kubota tractor I haven't decided yet and maybe this is just thinking out loud for my Barn family.

I know it will break my heart and I may have to purchase a new ass kicking machine but maybe it would be the best thing to do for now...I don't know.

Living the good life(really) in GA

You betch ahh. Sell the damn thing and move on to other, newer pursuits. It is the smart thing to do. You had your fun and spent time with your old passion - now it is time to enjoy a new passion. And then you can better enjoy your new life and someone else will enjoy the pleasures of cussing at a cantankerous old piece of iron.

Ofcourse, selling a car with WHITE WALL tires will be challenging; so you may have it for awhile ! . . . . . even to those who are GREEN with envy.

I enjoy the time spent with the 'A', Kubota tractor and motorbikes. Its hard to fit them all in sometimes, but, it can be done.
Have you thought about 'pickling' the old 'A' for a couple years ?
But, I understand that sometimes one just has to let go of something.

If the finances were available I would let them bury me in it but they're not and I was thinking the money from a sale would come in handy.

I have the farm, horses, big barn, tractor, cottage and several cars and I still have time for my business. It is called time management. But if you have convinced yourself it is time to let go of the A just do it and move on. It is not the type of decision you need help from Barners. It is your decision totally because we don't walk in your shoes ( barn boots ) ! Wayne

When I read the title to this thread, the first thing that popped into my head was: "He's not going to go and do something stupid like paint his fenders black, is he?"

Dusty, I did a similar thing about 5 years ago. If you are starting up a small farm, it is fun, but it really can take up ALL your time. Especially if it needs fixing up (mine did). By the way, buying the Kabota was one of the smartest things I did.

Just a thought though, your may change your priorities after a while. I did. After I figured out that I could now longer afford time for my (many many) other interest, I backed off on the farm. Sold the cattle, quit trying to make everything perfect and decided to just do hay. it lets me feel like I am doing a little farming and helps pay the taxes.

If you are serious about a small farm, are learning how to do it, fixing things up and trying to do it all your self.... it will take almost all your time based on my personal experience.

Anyway, here is the moral of my story:

Boy, am I glad I did not sell all my old cars and other stuff (I did some).
I am really glad I have them now.

Of course, do what feels right to you, and remember you can always find another car.

Keep in mind though, Model A's look great on farms!

If you harness the horses to the plow you won't need the tractor.

Thanks nephew, like I said I'm just thinking about it at this point, I wish your dad would chime in(brother Bill) I know he would have the proper insight.

Don believe it or not I have met Roy, found him at a gas station in Lincolnton in his model A about 3 months ago. he lives just down the road from me and his house is easy to spot because he has a big metal banjo welded to his mail box I showed him a photo of my "A" he said he didn't like it he may play a great banjo but he has no ability at all to recognize great beauty

Dusty,
Something to consider in this decision. A tractor doesn't quite work the same for a chick magnet as a green Model A.
