Default 1930s Period correct reflectors

Hopefully someone with a few more gray hairs than me can help to identify what style rear (red) reflectors would have been used in the mid to late 30s.

I would guess that plastic type were introduced post war so more than likely a glass style?

Thanks!

There are several different types of glass reflectors. Go to e-Bay and do a search for "antique glass reflectors". Some are a little pricey.

I would like to know what style to look for........
To narrow my question down when were the marble type reflectors used?
The next period of reflectors looks to be flat glass.
I have no idea what era / years these were offered.

Unless you can find an expert on reflectors I would suggests you try to get the patent date of a particular reflector that you see and grabs your interest. Let's say your vehicle is a 1937 then you want something that has a date of 1937 or older.

You can try searching for printed ads on eBay that display the types, to narrow down a date range. This will kind of document them. If your'e looking for mid to late 1930s. Remember what could be considered 'period correct' could be anything from the late 20's. People used things that were 10 years or older especially something like a static glass reflector. Maybe they took it from their old car and put it on a newer model car 5-,7 years isn't a big stretch for a reflector to be used. Glass reflectors were used on any vehicles to compensate for the lack of being seen clearly at night and this condition lasted up until the advent of 12v in late fifties.
