‘34 Roadster side curtain rods?

My 34 Roadster came with a perfect set of side curtains, but no rods!

Can’t find any for sale anywhere, so I thought I could buy some Model A units, and heat up, bend, cut, whatever to make a working set. Any suggestions?

I suggest contacting the Benson Ford Research Center to see if drawings are available for those parts.

Roy Nacewicz made them, they were still listed in his last catalog. You might check with Mike at Third Generation to see if they still have some or intend to make them again.

Model A side curtain rods aren't long enough to be reworked into the elaborate shape of the front '33-'34 phaeton/roadster rods.

Agreed, but I have to start somewhere, don’t want to wait months/years till I find a set. Will start with those, measure, and use a local metal guy if I have to. There was a pair of the backs on here last month I missed out on…

Did you talk to Third Gen? I'm in the same boat with 35/36 phaeton curtain rods. I found a set of original side curtains I can use for patterns, but no rods yet.

Michael for sure has '35-'36 phaeton side curtain rods, although he may not remember that I sorted them for him and still have them with me.

I’ll have to inquire with him once he gets them back! At least he has them.

I left a message with third GEN, they have not got back to me yet. 34 fabricator does not have any, doesn’t even have any for his own car, so somebody out there seems like an opportunity?

Are the front door rods the same on a 33-34 phaeton?

The forward-most rod is the same on '33-'34 phaeton front doors and roadster doors.

|Roy's supllier passed away MANY years ago. I had a set of 35-36's that recently sold. My wide just listed the remainder of the curtain rods I have as one lot on eBay just two days ago. There is at least one 35-36 forward one in the lot if I remember.

As an aside, IF anyone wants to take on the endeavor and has one or a "potential" set, "IF" is see one, I may have the resources/ability to have some made!!!!

From David G's post the other day, it sounds like he still may have some in his possession that he sorted for you? If that's the case, I'd be interested in a 35-36 phaeton set.

As I said, I'd have to see one (or a set) and see what would be involved in duplicating them??? I'm not sure I can BUT hands (and Machines) made them before SO......???? I have several "friends" who do lots of varied work and have lots of equipment.....some specialized SO I can "potentially" do a lot!!!!!

This is a piece that I am planning on duplicating, I am figuring on doing about 12 sets. I mic'd out at .10 thickness SO I just got my 12ga steel lined up SO now trying to get one of my customers to let me know how much he will charge me to punch the holes and bend them for me....AND my other customer how much to water jet cut 96pcs out for me. AS you can see in my second picture, one of my machinist made me a set of 4 that "will work" but obviously nothing close to stock!!! SO I am planning to do an "exact" match!!!
