water pump ID

We need to replace or repair these two pumps,they are on a 99a engine fitted to a 39 coupe ,that had an 8ba style distributor on it,(now replaced with a good crab dist), the pumps look like truck dual pulley ones with the inner pulley machined off.
Are these available new or repaired.

There are rebuild kits for the truck pumps available...they are ballbearing instead of bushing.
And have to pressed apart the opposite way from what you do with a bushing type.
If the belt was moved sideways to get clearance for postdistributor...is the crankpulley std ?
If you have a normal crankpulley and generator setup the std waterpumps should work..or are you running on one sheave of a double pulley setup ??

Water pumps look like truck two sheave ones with the inner machined off,I think it was done to run the 8ba style distributor,thats heaved in nthe bin now and a good set upm crab on.
All this stuff was running on the car before ,but as I have just frehened up the engine and fixed a few things,and the impellors on these pumps are badly eaton away,we need to fit repaired ones .

The stock setup for the early engines doesn´t clear a post distributor so what crankpulley do you have now ?
The stock pulley doesn´t line up with with the second groove...
If you want to back to stock original crankpulley and std pumps ??
Look at the pulley side of the pump, the shaftdiameter for a ballbearing truckpump is larger then a std bushing pump.

The dual pump pulley was used in 37-39 trucks and 40 - 41 COE. Part number is 79-8501/8502. The shaft and bearing # is 79-8530,

Impeller and seal is same as for a normal bushing pump if i remember right.
The bearing used to be available from the major suppliers....
You need parts for a rebuild or complete pumps ?

Start scouting the vendors the repair kit sold just became obsolete so someone should have a couple of kits on the shelf.

An alternative, should you not be able to find replacement bearings, is available from reputable bearing suppliers [Saeco etc] These water pump bearings have an unhardened 5/8 shaft protruding from each side, simply machine one end down to 1/2" to suit the impellor and shorten up to suit. Very easy for you to do Lawrie.

Lawrie, certainly looks like a double sheave pulley that's had the back machined off. Don't have a pump here to compare with the pic, but is it a bearing type pump body? I ask as I've had a pair of bushing type pumps that had the twin sheave pulleys pressed on.

So i grabbed some different bearings for comparsion.
top to bottom...59ab double sheeve...6 cylinder...8ba.
Bearing outer measurement is same so you could take a 8BA ballbearing and machine it to fit.
I also found 2 new pumps in the shelf...but shipping will probably be a pain.
