I'd love to find a set of these . . . well, just because . . .

One thing us 'Flathead Guys' have learned over the years is that having a consistent .040 or so squish over the piston is key for turbulence and overall performance. It doesn't matter if it is a Harley KR, a Cadillac or a Ford flathead . . . same deal with all of them.

Yeah, good luck in your search!
I had found a pair at Hershey many years ago. NOS and aluminum to top it off. That (aluminum) made them even more rare. Paid an insane price for them but needed them for a at that time future restoration of a very rare '40 Ford Convertible Coupe.

On that picture of the engine where is the radiator cooling fan located?
Thanks,

Hi Phil

On that '40 the fan with short extension will be mounted directly to the end of the crankshaft. If you look very closely I believe the tip of a blade can be seen near the distributor.

Thanks Kube: I must ask, why those particular heads for that car - was it because they were aluminum? There were quite a few other 81A heads that would have been correct on that engine. Just wondering - given that you had to pay a lot for them???

Did you notice the deeper domes as well?
