Can holes ina firewall be safely filled without removing the gas tank?

I would think so, the welder would have a copper plate behind the weld. The plate would protect the tank. I’m guessing it’s an old heater hole ect?

Depends on your definition of safely?

28 or 29, I would remove the tank.

30 or 31, I would fill with water and pray.

Good luck.
