Default Rusty frame

I have a 52 F-1 with major rust issues in the frame rails, Does this frame have anything in common with the earlier 42 to 48 frames??

Sort of. The wheelbase is the same but there are horns on the F1 frame that weren't present for the earlier versions. There may have been a rear kick up on the pre-48 frames and slightly different fender/ radiator core attach points. I'm unsure if the F1 frames were more stout.

The VanPelt site may be helpful: http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/f...ssis-frame.htm

The closest to a 52 frame will be a 48-51 frame. Ford changed some things around the front cross member in 1952 when the new OHV six cylinder engine replaced the previous flathead 6 offering. Depending on what you are doing a 48-51 frame would work as a replacement.
Be aware that the serial number for your truck is on the frame, not on the cab or any other part of the truck. Something to consider if your title matches your frame.
