Default Protecting paint

I recently had the car painted, now it is time to install the trunk seal. To do that I need to remove it. I plan to put it on a pair of stable sawhorses that have foam on the top but I don't think that is enough. My idea is to cover it with new 2 mil plastic, a layer of bubble wrap and another layer of plastic. I'd like to hear some additional ideas that might be better.

I have some movers blankets that work very well. Wouldn't suggest plastic as any dust or dirt between the plastic and the trunk may scratch it.

If you don't have a mover's blanket, then two blankets should work w/o any additional material.

Get a small memory foam mattress for a Childs crib from Walmart. They work great for this type of project and can be rolled up and stored for future use. I bought one for under $30.00 bucks several years ago and have used it more time then I can count.

I ditched the plastic against the paint idea and secured a big fluffy towel to the trunk lid, then covered it with plastic. Kind of a take off on both your ideas which I believe will work well. Thanks.
