I just tried to set a magnetic base flashlight on my front fender and it slid off. They are definitely not fiber glass. Did Ford use any aluminum or are these aftermarket fenders?

aftermarket would be steel although not a thick as oem did you try the magnet in different areas fender may be filled with body filler maybe thet are good fiberglass repops

They are definitely all metal and entirely not attracted to magnet.

Easy way to tell if any fender is fiberglass is to run your fingers along the underside. It is not smooth like the exterior, because the underside is hidden.

Fun face, Ford actually sold fiberglass fenders for 53-56 F-100s in the 1970s. I don't know who made them for Ford. I bought a pair and decided I didn't want to use them. But my brother ended with those same fenders later on and traded some parts with me. In the mean time, I repaired the ones on my '53 F-100.
