Default radio antenna

Car wash broke the antenna mast off my 51 Merc. Back in then 50's a replacement mast that fit over the broken stub was available. Are these still around?

Doubt there are any available. Replace it with a new one like this--

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercury-Mont...item519f1c705e

Or just put an old wire coat hanger in it (like many used to do)

Most of the late 40s early 50s cars that had the cowl placement antenna will all be able to use the same type. I've purchased several decent aftermarket antennas off flea-pay that were manufactured in the 50s and still new in the packages. They look and fit just like the OEM antenna. Mac's and probably other vendors sell cowl mount types that will do the same job. P/N BAAA-18813-A comes to mind. I think it was made to fit the Mercs better.
