A4167993 is a 11/25/30 build date and the over stamp is probably a rebuilders numbering

Some states (ie Illinois) in the era, when an engine (vin number) was changed, the Secretary of State assigned the vehicle a new vin number with the prefix SOS.

ANYBODY can stamp ANYTHING----I could stamp my NAME on it, in case it gets STOLEN---BUT, there's probably 987,000 Bill Williamsons, so that wouldn't help, if someone with the SAME NAME stole it. "Maybe" I should WELD the engine into the car???

I would bet there are Model A’s out there with engines welded in. People have done everything you can think of to these cars.

Rebuilder or whoever should have ground off old engine number. I can’t imagine what some DMV person will think of this one. Enjoy.

Cindy & I should move there & sorta' "disappear" from Folks tryin' to sell Solar Panels or Life Insurance or Computer "care"---CAN'T seem to trace any of our Family, to that area.
