Default Bonnie and Clyde's A?????

"Police stand near the car where Bonnie and Clyde were killed after being set up either by a member of their gang or his father".....or so the caption says.

If this is his car, I thought in a earlier thread that Clyde wouldn't have an A or did I miss something in the translation?

Not their car - they were in a 34 Deluxe.

The death car was not a Model A, as Stouchton has noted. I seem to recall seeing the 34 displayed at the 1964 World's Fair in NYC when I was a teenager.

Well then, I wonder if the photographer got the cars mixed up? Look at the far right side behind the cops and you'll see the fender, tired and hub cap. Could that be the 34 deluxe from the above photo.

Sorry fellas, it's not that I don't believe you but after relentless research I found that, not only was Clyde driving a Model A Ford but they also got away!!!!!!!!!!!!! It could have been an earlier shoot out, I guess.

That looked like a poor Hollywood reenactment.
Entertaining for the kiddies I guess.
Wrong cars and no real bullets.

There are what I believe, some bullet holes in the upper body and the back glass. Hard to tell.

I saw the actual car when on display at a Primm Nevada casino in '05.

This looks like the Model A Coupe Dillinger used to escape from Little Bohemia in northern Wisconsin. He stole it, kidnaped the driver letting him out near Park Falls. He later scuttled it in the Twin Cities.

Lucky person who owns this:

I was of the understanding that Clyde might have used and Model A but when the Flat Head V8 Fords came out well, he was hooked...

From the article I referenced above..

Quote:
Recently, the death car was parked at its home casino in Primm, Nevada, on the plush carpet next to the main cashier cage. But then it embarked on another casino tour, and was last seen west of Reno.
Does this sound like the same car?

He also talks about other "alleged" Bonnie & Clyde Death Cars. More lives than a pair of cats.

Could be, but I think I read once he drove the Coupe that Red Hamilton took a slug in, to Mendota, Illinois then ditched the car and took another one into Chicago

Yes, the 34 was on show with the letter of authenticity and a lot of Bonnie/Clyde memorabilia.

The casino owner was a gangster fan.

Clyde's blue shirt he was wearing when shot was there too.

There was another car with bullet holes in same foyer, it was either Bugsey Seagal's or Bugsy Malone's , can't remember.

I got pics of both cars somewhere in my camera or SD cards.

On same trip in '05, I visited both Bonnie's and Clyde's graves, each on the other side of Dallas, Bonnie''s mother hated Clyde and would not let them be buried together.

One thing that amazed me was the poor condition of the '34.

It had fatigue split fenders and real weathered paint.

Some great reading here......

If you want to spend time looking (like I did a couple years ago) there is a lot of info, pics, and even newsreel footage on the web about this. The 34 pictured is the same as the other 'official' police photos and newsreel footage I've seen. There are some gruesome photos on the web. The items hanging on the rear door are items from the trunk of the car. There are also pictures taken of the rear of the car where the police have all the weapons from inside the car and trunk leaning up against the back of the car. There are photos and footage of when this car was towed back into the nearest town with the bodies of Bonnie and Clyde still inside it. They were not removed from the vehicle until it was towed in. If you search, you can find these photos, along with pictures from the morgue, funerals, etc. Also complete info on the story on the car from the time.
