Default Borg and Beck

What is the torque spec for a Merc Borg and Beck clutch cover? All I can find are for the Ford. Thanks. Jack

From the '49-'51 Mercury/Lincoln shop manual, 22-26 lb.ft.

I suspect torque spec for Ford and Merc are similar if not same. Although Ford stuck with "Long" thru '56, Lincoln used both and Merc switched from Long to Borg & Beck in '49. My Chilton Manual covers just about every aspect of that clutch but does not have the torque specs. If its any help they were also used in Chrysler, De Soto, Dodge, Frazer, Hudson, Kaiser, Lincoln, Nash, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pontiac, Studebaker and Willys. As a last resort you may be able to find info about one of the latter makes.

Thanks, Bob. Not much different than the Ford even though they are 3/8" bolts instead of Ford's 5/16".
