35 to 37 frame
My 35 5 window coupe frame is useable but a clean 37 frame became available. Will my 35 body fit on this 37 frame. The car is slightly modified with a flathead, T-5 trans, parallel rear springs and solid front axle. What frame mods if any are required.

Re: 35 to 37 frame
If you go to www.wescottsauto.com you will find under their TECH section, the frame dimensions of most of the old Fords. 1935 thru 1940 frames are for the most part interchangeable. The down side of changing the frame is the VIN numbers that are stamped on the frame rails in 3 places. Only one of them is actually visible with the body on the frame. Your dept of licensing may want to look at your frame numbers. It could be a problem if you are found to have changed the numbers.

Re: 35 to 37 frame
Chris Nelson is right about the VIN. Check local laws and you may have to take pictures to show the DMV what you are doing and even have a policeman verify it. In WV there is a form that has to be filled out and a policeman must verify and sign it.
On the plus side if everything on the frames are complete and original you will get much better brakes and steering. Even though the brakes are still mechanical they were enclosed cables and work much better. Too, in 1937 they improved the steering.

Re: 35 to 37 frame
The biggest difference is the back 20"s .If you have a chassic engeering spring kit the kits fit,35 to early 36,then 36 to 40 another kit.All other stuff can change to fit.
