Re: Starting on the Fordor
Judging from this latest group of photos, the access hole in the #1 floorboard has been enlarged from side to side. Also the routing of the vacuum line for the windshield wiper motor has been tampered with.
The method of retaining the front edge of the transmission floor plate, the March 4th date stamped on the back of the front belt finish panel (dash), and the type of fasteners used to retain the firewall pad suggest that this is a fairly early '32. The routing and the clip on the dome lamp wire conduit are 100% original. |

Re: Starting on the Fordor
That 32 is amazing, there is nothing close to that here on the right coast. I see by the body tag it is a Murray body. And it's the deluxe model to boot.

Re: Starting on the Fordor
Is that stop for the floorboard cover original? I knew about the cover (the round one that swivels). But noot the metal stop I see.

Re: Starting on the Fordor
Yes, that's correct for an early transmission floorboard cover that has no screw holes in its forward edge.

Re: Starting on the Fordor
They're not stops, but rather they turn to the side and when in the vertical position as shown in the photo, they retain the early version of the transmission floor cover plate which had no screw holes on that portion of the plate against the #1 floorboard. Normally, it would be unusual to encounter these retainers and the swiveling cover on the same #1 floorboard given that the early transmission plates do not have the notched recess on their front edge to capture the bottom of the swiveling cover. In this particular case, both the two transmission plate retainers and the swiveling cover appear to be riveted to the floorboard, which strongly suggests this floorboard is as-built except for the enlarged hole for grease cup access.

Re: Starting on the Fordor
So I v
Can put on the round cover with out the other piece. I know it isn't technically correct for my car but I have a hard time just leaving the hole in the floor. |

Re: Starting on the Fordor
Super fine sedan Mike, the interior details are so neat. Would a rear foot rail be an option? Seems to be room to provide one.
You don't find them in this condition often, you have a gem. |
