Default Horn Ring

Hello I have a 41 ford trying to get the horn to work.I converted to 12 volts a while back I had no luck with the trumpets so went with a modern horn.I tested the horn and works I have it wired through a horn relay.I am trying to figure out the wire to horn ring how does it break contact. How does the contact plate work.I believe this is a ground wire so this wire is screwed to the horn ring how do I get power

The power is to the relay and from the relay to the horn. The horn wire up the steering column is providing a ground to the relay. When the relay is grounded it is activated and power is supplied to the horns from the relay.

If the stock trumpets worked on -6v they will also work on +12v if you change to a +12v horn relay. They will sound different, but will work. I have tried everything to reduce the voltage to the horns to regain the stock sound but have not yet found a resistor or voltage resistor that works. So I just live with the sound. If the horn relay ever sticks, the 12 volts will probably fry the internal horn circuitry, but for now it survives short beeps.
