Default Info on repairing a door hinge pin

I need to replace the hinge pin on my 35 Coupe because it's loose. I see Mac's sells on over sized pin. I this the best way to repair this or are there other options?
Thank, Joe

I repaired mine with an oversized pin. Not sure if it’s the best way, but it worked well. I had to drill my mirror bracket oversized as well.

I would use a bushing from Fastenall and rebush the hinge , to keep with stock pins.

I sent my complete hinges off my '49 Mercury to customs classics & rods. (CCR)
They did an excellent job. Hope they are still in business, as that was a decade or so ago.

No need to over think or over repair this problem. Install the oversize pins.

Often the hardest part of replacing hinge pins is extracting the old ones. The knurled part is usually rusted in place, and if worn, they resist removal. Support the outer end of the door to relieve the pin before you try to drive it up and out. A good idea is to protect the adjacent painted area. We use an air chisel with a pointed bit. Trying a hammer and chisel is very difficult. Once removed, you will determine if standard or oversize pins are required.

Thanks everyone. I replaced the upper pins when I installed the mirrors. I still have the tool that Mac's sells. Hopefully, I'll have time this weekend. I'll post the results.
Thanks, Joe
