I've been flying a Dehavilland (DHC-2) Beaver for about 30 years. A Beaver is one "Slowplane".

My name is Ken, my car is a 31 Coupe. That is where mine comes from - not creative but accurate.

I was fortunate enough to see ZZ Top at ATT Stadium in Dallas last year at a private performance. They were great! Do you have Cheap Sunglasses for when you are driving your A?

By the way, I used to live in Reseda (Kittridge near White Oak). Great to be able to drive the A all year long.

KR500, easy enough. Lived in Chicago and owned a 1968 GT 390 Mustang. Someone wanted it more than me. I got upset and bought a 1968 1/2 Shelby KR500 from Ohio in '74.

While at Bell Canada I carried a well worn black case for my notes and a few tools. A fellow worker and friend by the name of Bill King (God rest his soul) once commented on the case and referred to me as Dr.J
The name was quickly picked up by several of my peers and was used to reserve favorite tables for the late lunches.

I was just a lurker at first, afraid to post and show how little I knew about the Model A Ford. But Paul Newman had the guts to stand up and say “what we got here is a failure to communicate” in his movie Cool Hand Luke. Then he got shot down. So I took the chance and started posting on Fordbarn using a take-off of the movie title, Cool Hand Lurker, expecting to get shot down from my stupid questions. Well I did, but not because of my lack of Model A knowledge. The guys here were very helpful. I have been able to help out a lot of them with cheap or free parts and am happy to be a part of this culture.
But I got shot down by a few jerks who got their shorts in a bundle because of the name that I choose and got downright vicious.Viscious enough to get bumped and banned. It was strange, especially considering that about 40% of the posters on the forum do not use their full name.
I think the assumed nicknames are a part of the character of the forum. I enjoy reading about the activities of these guys/gals and I have stopped to see quite a few of them in my travels. There was always a warm welcome!
Thanks!

It's the name of my business which included antique aircraft restoration. The avatar picture is of my father who introduced me to Model A's with a ride home from the hospital (1936) as a newborn in that '31 40B.

I filled a hard cassette case with 2" foam rubber, in the top & bottom. Made a perfect case for extra parts, a few tools, etc. Doesn't rattle & protects delicate parts, etc. Even a carb will "squish" in it & "molds" it's own "nest"

My name is Jack., but it seems to be so popular that it is tough to use it as a forum name.
Beside the 31 Sport Coupe I also have a 55 Chevy Belair (Can I say that here?.. thus JAX55.

Due to a very long relationship with my '40. Hard to remember not having it. Been through a number of others, several shoeboxes even a couple chevys, but the 40 will always be there.
