Thumbs down spark plug wire set

I need a spark plug wire set for a 51 EAB flat head engine.
Engine is stock but has Petronic electronic ignition. 6volt, poss. ground.
Petronic said the wires should be surpression and or carbon core type to avoid issues with the ignition down the road.

I use this Taylor spark 8MM Spiro Wound plug wire kit for my 8BA Pertronix ignition. They work great since 1999. Do not use any solid copper wire core plug wires on any electronic ignition. You cut the wires to length you need. Also buy the crimping tool. Go to Taylor website , Summit or Jegs. Plus, hot rod shops in your area might carry them.

I will second the recommendation on a special spark plug crimper. Until I got one, the spark plug wires I made were second rate.

This week I put these MSD wires on my 8BA. They are 8mm spiral wound stainless wire rated at 500 ohms/ft, same as some of the low resistance Pertronix wires. I ordered mine last week for $30 and free shipping, now they are about $46. Go figure.

If you are not interested in wire that is colored or has graphics then Pertonix spiral wound (PN 708190) is the stock looking, stock diameter, 7MM wire that I used.

I used this. May take seconds to load. You can also get them in plastic.

Did you read the reviews on the Jeg's site about this? They are all "one star". It seems to be universally disliked.

I get my plug wires from Speedway. They have a universal 7mm set for around $35- $40, suppressor style.
