The irony in this is there is a reason why the second club was a split off of the first club. When you really know the inner-workings of each club, the mission statement is different. There is also a reason why the "women's fashion stuff" is included. It is because there is a desire for it to be there. The ladies probably do a better job at providing content than what the men do at providing content for how-to.

So how much of a reduced rate does the online subscription save? If the magazine costs less than a $1.50 to print because of the volume of issues, then that is only $9.00 annually HOWEVER with the smaller number of printed media, the quantity price break likely means the magazine will cost more to produce when printed. So if you drop the price from $45 (-or $50) down to $36 (-or $41), is the savings really worth it? Maybe so. I would expect the file size of the magazine to be such that it would not be e-mailed but only available to read on-line. So often a printed magazine is laying on your desk or in the bathroom where it is picked up and read as a filler of time. If it is online, the intention is to read about it but is often overlooked or forgotten about. Then upon renewal time, members realize that they really did not read the online version to warrant a membership renewal. Now membership falls even more.

Brent,

Good point. I have three online Hemmings subscriptions that I often forget to read.

shew01 I have to admit I do that too.

Truth be told I still prefer a paper magazine to hold in my hand

While some like to hold in their hands and read cover to cover, others would be fine with just the teck info and getting that on line would work for many. I too like to hold some reading material in my hands; newspapers, books and references books. Often I find if easier to look up on line how to repair somethings, more direct then in a book esp if I can find a You-tube video!

i think both can be offered here is my deal i only care about touring and eating at nice places and seeing things and both national clubs from my perspective do not do that very well. One definitely does not and the other barely does. Maybe both clubs ought to do a survey and see what folks say. might be surprised, I went to my first MARC in Branson it was a bore and I am old. That said I am old and if I find it boring why would young folks find it interesting.
