Default Does anyone have measurements for 29 CCPU Kick Panels?

I need to put some kick panels in my 29 CCPU cowl (now a huckster). Does anyone have the measurements or a drawing of these demensions or know where I can find this info? I tried to make a pattern for it out of cardboard but it is very hard to do.

Thanks

Don't make them out of cardboard, ...make them out of poster board. Cut p-board into multiple pieces and lay-out the first one that fits the back edge. Then use another one that fits the rise of the subrail extension. Temporarily tape the two together and make some witness marks from one piece to the adjoining piece so you have something to reference to. Next use another straight edge to make the panel that goes up against the firewall and tape that one to the other two. Layout for the curve around the tank and trim. It isn't that difficult and you will have you a pattern in no time at all.

Send me a private message with a address and I will send you a tracing of an original. The upholstery companies use a thick cardboard with vinal glued to it and it is suppose to be waterproof, but most of the time it warps after a couple of years. There is a construction industry 1/8" thick cardboard material called THERMO PLY that works real well and will not warp, you can glue material to it and you can sew through it.

Here's 2 pictures of an original mid 28 Tudor kickpad, which would be the same shape as your 29 CCPU. Notice the notch just above the screw in the second picture. Also notice how the binding stopped short of the front edge in the first picture. I'm not sure if they all did this, or if that was the end of the roll.

It seems to me that Brent gave the best way to make them. For sure they would fit correctly, and with the pictures I posted they can be trimmed correctly with binding.

This is a test to see if the drawing (crudely done with a tracing, ruler, and several pieces of paper, can be read after a viewer enlarges it. If it works, the bottom of the drawing may be off a little as my original panels that were traced are tattered at the bottom. Also on the short vertical side (engine side) it may or may not be parallel with the door side, it traces at a slight angle as shown in the drawing. If this doesn't work I'll do some brain picking tomorrow and find another way to get a better picture.

i intend to use 1/8" clear acrylic when i do this, and paint the inside surface body color, easy to keep clean and remain glossy, durable , no points .
thanks for those specs, tips and images.
