Default '47 Car Radio Speaker Question

Re-wiring under dash and time to replace that crappy, punctured, stock 6 X 9 speaker. Keeping the 6V Pos. Gd.
Looked at the S & M Electro-Tech site and they have one that should work.
http://www.turnswitch.com/speakers.htm

Has anyone used the one from MACS and have any advice?

Thanks...Jim

Just in case you ever want to hear both sides of a stereo signal in your speaker you might want to consider replacing with a stereo unit also available for Mac's here: http://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_me...ford-only.html.

See this thread to see what I did: http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=134617

Note: Unfortunately, the smaller speakers in the stereo system do not reproduce the low frequency bass as well as a single speaker. But, I had to do it to hear both tracks of my stereo input.

Have a stock 6v OE Ford speaker out of my '47. Was used with the stock Ford "Wonderbar" Radio. When I removed it it was working (humming). Its a two wire speaker (some were three wire speakers pending type of radio. Has the wires and the plug that connects to the radio. The original sponge rubber gasket around the outside edge should be replaced (rubber weather stripping should do). Little haze of rust on part of back side but should clean up nice. Labeling reads "DETROLA D-70253" and Ford part no. "51A-18808-A1". See my PM to you re cost and shipping. Dan Brown in zip 12801.
