I am getting to be just about done with the '46 Ford pick up restoration. Possibly my last question: What color were the tail gate chains painted from the factory? Black? Body color? or??? I am just about ready to post some pictures of my winter's work.

SSSSSS I'm ready for pics. I would say the same color as the body color, but paint them any color you want.... Ken

Since they are riveted to the bed stake pockets before paint, I went with body color on our 47 trucks. Most of them are covered in top material sleeves anyway so you don't really notice it. I did put the springs on after paint though. Hope this helps.
