Can someone post a pic or two showing original Horn location/mounting?

The horns for my car came in the parts box.....

I'm no expert on 1940s, but it might make a difference between std and dlx.

If you are talking about a passenger car, deluxe or V8 (std) they mount on the inside of the LH inner fender panel, the bracket has 2 bolts into the panel and 1 into the frame.

How hard are they to find, and how expensive? It does explain that relay mounted there though

My friend has a set of 39 deluxe horns he would sell. They look like the ones in Kubes pic. Just not as nice. If they are the same I can find out how much he wants.

Nice horns? You see them all over the ($$$) place. realistically, a NICE set that needs refinishing but is not bent or pitted badly is around $100.
1939 horn sets will fit and function quite perfectly in your '40. However, the '39 horns did not have that angled bracket on the back until very late in the model year. If concourse is not a priority, '39 horns will be great for your needs.

Be careful as '41 horns appear at quick sight to be the same as '40. The bracket is different and will not fit your car.
