'46 Speedometer Removal
What is involved to remove the speedometer from the dash. I know the cable and light sockets need to be removed, but what holds it in the dash? Does it come out from the back or front? A description and pictures would be appreciated. Does anyone have a picture of the back side of an assembled dash?

Re: '46 Speedometer Removal
There are a few common head screws that attach it from behind. It is removed from the back.

Re: '46 Speedometer Removal
There are two tabs, one at about the 10 o'clock and one about the 5 o'clock position that the screws go thru. You need to be a contortionist to get to them. It comes out the back.

Front / back views. Removing the speaker grille makes for much easier access.

Re: '46 Speedometer Removal
Thanks for the pics 49'r. The next question is, how do you remove the speaker grill. I have had the glove box out to work on the wipers, but didn't think about the speaker grill
