Re: American Vs. South America Tudor Phaeton
Kaplan family was selling up to maybe 10 yrs ago. I believe the dollar went south and then Dr Kaplan aged out
I was looking at 2 rare 32 chevy A 400 style cars. For the money, they were a steal. Try and find that body style today! They were affordable compared with the 32 ford A400s. |

Re: American Vs. South America Tudor Phaeton
I do remember one of my buddies buying a beautiful complete steering sector here at USA flea market,
He showed it to me and I asked if he was getting a RHD. He used “golf words”!! |

Re: American Vs. South America Tudor Phaeton
I bought a RHD 1930 Cabriolet that was imported from Argentina by a guy in Stuart, Florida. The car was sold to me as a custom bodied 5 passenger Cabriolet similar to a 400A. I kept the car for many years but finally sold it as the work it needed was WAY beyond my ability or wallet to ever do. It could have been a fun custom car but it was really beat!

Re: American Vs. South America Tudor Phaeton
Hello, Years ago Pages Model A used to import Fords from other country’s , I remember looking at. 1938 Deluxe Fordor from Denmark. Probably had Some Model A also from overseas. This would have been in mid 1970,s .Many were in “well used “ condition, needing complete restoration.

Personally, all of the South American cars I've seen have been really well "loved"...I would personally pass on one unless I had a chance to look it over thoroughly. As far as screws go, the Canadians used square-drive Robertson screws. I assumed these were the norm on cars that were sent to the other Commonwealth countries, but from the photos I've looked at of survivors, it appears most cars (at least Australian ones) used flat drive screws.
