Default Newb with '31 slant window cabriolet

Didn't see a place for introductions so figured I'd start here. No history w/ Model As but stumbled into this one last year and just starting to get up to speed/work on it.

Looks like the first thing is how to attach a pic. Guess they have to be hosted somewhere vs direct upload.

Hello, attractive car , the slant windshield are some of the rarest Model A having been built the last 8 months of production. Color looks to be Elkpoint and Kewanee Green with Apple wheels and stripe .

Welcome to the club. Nice car.

Instruction manual can be found at any of the vendors. Here is one: https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...9978&cat=41621 There are many other books available. A good instruction book for mechanical work is: https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...0031&cat=41621

I wasn't too keen on the wheel color but it's growing on me. Looks like you've got the same one!

I just painted my wheels that color on my slant from red. 100% improvement.

not only do I like the apple green, but the inside of my gas tank has a stripe that is that color, which I believe to be from the factory.

Thanks all. I've got the instruction manual and several other books. Also joined MAFCA last year and Snyder's has already gotten a good bit of cash out of me. Previous owner had it probably 50yrs but it sat unused for probably the last 20 of those. Didn't take a lot to get it going but had a lot of transmission noise so I took it as a good excuse to go through everything mechanical. I've got the trans done but going to be looking for some other parts which led me here.

Looks like you're from NJ. I was born in NJ but every time I tell someone that they ask me "what exit!"

(sorry, shameless post count building)

Congratulations!
I'm Green with envy! (LOL)
That's a really beautiful car.
How did you find it? (I hope its not rude to ask. ..)
Did the landau bars and their associated parts come with the car? (Hope so!)
Enjoy the ride!
You're going to draw a cheerful crowd wherever you go.

Moved to my retirement place a few years ago and it came with a new neighbor that's the local old car guru - an 82yr old lifelong mechanic that seems to know everyone. the '31 belonged to and old friend of his and family asked him to get it running/help sell. I helped him a bit and thought it was a neat car but never really expressed an interest in it and had never messed with Model As previously. Later it was offered to me for what I thought seemed like a decent price so I bought it. Right place/right time kinda thing.

Unfortunately it did not come with the landau irons/knobs. Story is they were loaned out years earlier to someone that was going to try to replicate them but never made it back. In searching I came across an old for sale post here for a set of 63C landau irons so figured I better join.
