Judging Standards revisions.
When I drove over to the MARC Headquarters today to pay my membership dues, I inquired about when the new revisions for the Judging Standards would be ready. I was told "hopefully" by April they would be ready. Just thought that I would pass along what I found out today.

Re: Judging Standards revisions.

Re: Judging Standards revisions.
You want them fast or right? I sat on the JSC for a number of years, and can say that both committees want them right. How long does it take to write a single article, with references, and pictures with one person writing it? About 3 times longer than you think. How long does it take to get textbook quality photos? (not blur-o-grams that I used). Now how long will it take to get a lead author and TWO committees to reach a consensus? Now how long will it take to get two committees to agree on a printer/final edit/final pictures/final layout etc etc. I can hear the argument now ...'that's why there should be one club'. I disagree, that's exactly why we should have two clubs, so no one group of like minded people can dictate what is 'correct', but rather two groups and form a consensus of what is 'as correct as we can prove'. I for one would prefer it right...not fast..not half fast...right...fwiw,jm
