carb center to center distance
I had saved a chart, that I think Ted Eaton posted , that showed the distance between the 2x4 carb, air cleaner mount bolts for all of the stock and aftermarket manifolds with the teapot carbs. I lost that info , and much more, when my last computer crashed. I do not know for sure if it was posted here or over on Y blocks forever. any of you guys know, or did any of you save it? I tried searching this site , but found nothing. I could not figure out how to search the Y Blocks forever site. any info would be helpful, as I have not got back into town to measure the factory stock manifold against my Edelbrock Manifold. Thanks ---Jim

Jim, If the Edelbrock ,manifold and factory manifold are at different locations, the carbs don't have to be mounted to check centers. Just measure the carb mounting hole centers and compare via phone or email. Sal |

Re: carb center to center distance
Sal, I have Jim's carbs on his engine and I have AFB's on my engine with the 57 Ford Manifold. I didn't trust measuring the carb centers on the AFB's, was going to pop them off and set some teapots on to measure. But a rough measure says they are .400 wider on the Ford vs Edelbrock.

Re: carb center to center distance
Oldmics... you don't want to pass the air cleaner on do you? If I could get one I was going to try to make one.

Re: carb center to center distance
Thanks Sal, I am going to try and get to town tomorrow, and check the manifold. I forget off-hand what the measurement on mine is now. maybe I can take a picture of the 2 Y's waiting for their new homes. then maybe I can figure out how to get them on the computer. from there it is no problem to post them

Re: carb center to center distance
If you measure the front manifold stud on the front carb to the front manifold stud on the rear carb, won't you get the same spacing measurement?
