Default Saw a nice 31 pickup with a trailer hitch.

I was at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, CA today and saw a beautiful 1931 closed cab pickup that had a canopy top over the bed and a combination trailer hitch/rear bumper. Here are a few pictures. If the owner sees this post maybe he could add some comments.
The trailer hitch/rear bumper had the normal brackets going to the frame, plus extra brackets to the bed floor and to the wooden sills under the bed. Here are a few pictures.

Im sorry, but some of the pictures were posted upside down. I don't know why, as they are right side up on my phone.

Seems to be a common problem with phone photos for some reason.

I like the idea of the 2" tubing, but it looks to be bolted to the wooden bed. I'd try to connect it somehow to the frame. Still, it looks good...

That's a nice hitch, was installed in Australia? Anyway truly fine metal workmanship.

I like the principle of having such a good tow hitch, however I find the way in which it is attached is hardly impressive, who attaches to wood floor boards???

A little more engineering and effort and it would be faultless.
Why risk damaging your vehicle for the sake of not doing it right.
Otherwise a nice looking vehicle.

Currently best uses, I can see for this hitch is as follows;
