Open Cab vs. Closed Cab Assembly numbers
Does anyone know of just how many Open Cab Pickups vs. Closed Cab Pickups were assembled in a given year?
For instance 1929 USA production...There were a total of 35825 Open Cab (76A) bodies assembled; 160441 Closed Cab (82A) bodies assembled; and 77917 Pickup (78A) bodies assembled. This would mean then that there were a possibility of 77917 Open and Closed Cab pickups assembled but just how much of each type is unknown. The remaining number then of Open and Closed Cab bodies went toweards the Model AA trucks. I wonder what the percentage of Open Cab vs. Closed Cab trucks there were? More than likely there were more Closed Cab trucks than Open Cab trucks? Thanks. Pluck |

The July-August 1973 issue of Ford Life magazine has an excellent article on the open cab trucks. Charlie Stephens |
