Default Bad Actor Response

I had a NOS Swiss brand door latch. I didn't know anything about it so I asked Bob Jones at Dennis Carpenter Ford; he said I'll get back to you in a couple of days. When he got back he said it was for a '40 to '48 pickup. I put it up for sale in the Ford Barn, Mr. David Castle inquired about it, I sent him detailed pictures of it and he bought it. Around 2 months later; yesterday he PM'd me and said for me to send him the correct door latch, I told him I only had the one door latch and that was Swiss made and that was the one in the pictures that I sent; now he's calling me a bad actor, I have never had anything like this happen to me before, I've always dealt honestly with people. This guy is completely unreasonable and untruthful, you tell me who the bad actor is.

Can the members see a picture please? Maybe members familiar with that latch can help alleviate the issue...

Seller: Return the money.
Buyer: Return the door latch.
End of story.
This should never have had to be posted.

Ha Ha Ha ha heh. Took me a minute to see it. We all be riding in the back seat, causing distraction to the daddy drivin'. Good 'un.

FWIW 19Fordy got it right, all right.

There always two sides to every story. Most of us read the one side yesterday. Buyers should not assume that every seller knows everything about what he has. Ask questions. Get photos of "THE" part and compare them to what you need. Also, sellers should take their share of responsibility to identify the part correctly and make sure the buyer gets a good look at what he is purchasing. This stuff happens on flea-pay too but you don't have a forum to complain on. Just inter communication and the private complaint reporting process.

Most of us have been there and done that and we don't like to be reminded about it much.

I agree with this. I always send my phone number with the first email, or ask for theirs. people seem to be less prone to play games, and follow through with someone they've had a conversation with.

I'm thinking the younger generation is more into texting and emails not talking
But when you send email or a text you have something to back it up

The old tried and true telephone always works the best. Real people talking to each other and working out the problem.
