I guess Mr. Rattlecan got you too. This Mr. Rattlecan how does he stay in business? Plan on making a list of good and the bad. I am tired of getting screwed. I am glad that Charlie was able to help you out. How do I get in touch w/ this Charlie? Thanks again for the information.

Send him a PM on this web page, look in the V8 Club roster or the for sale section.

You'll be very pleased with Charlie Schwindler's (sp?) work. I've made several purchases from him with 100% satisfaction. Good luck.

Was it slathered with clear coat? Seems that would get messy if you dribbled gasoline on it. I don't think Rustoleum likes gas!

Apparently the ol' rattle-canner didn't offer a warranty?

Thanks for the kind thoughts.

I had at the time needed correct '40 pumps and that was the only place I could find that had them.
I knew they would be painted but I am capable of applying the proper finish.
Still, I was dumbfounded to find he does not test his work.
I guess I simply assumed that if this is your business, some pride would be placed in the workmanship. Lesson learned...

Just got a PM from this Fordbarn Member Ken. He wrote that he rebuilds carb, dist, and fuel pump. He uses USA made kits. That his work is show quantity. He has been doing this rebuilds for 55 years. The PM seem nice and the price was reasonable. Has anybody used this guy before.

What is his location? I would ask what kind of finish he uses. If anything but original chromate, I would ask for a big discount, as it would NOT be show quality otherwise, unless it's a sloppy judge.

I too would question just who he is. Ask for his last name.
If it's KenCT, stay away if you like your stuff properly rebuilt as well as concourse acceptable.
