Default Wanted section- when will I learn

I’ve posted on this before….
Responded to a wanted ad. No response, nothing, notta, zip,….
I think insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result…I must be…
I’ve responded to wanted maybe 6-7 times and heard back once. Not even thanks, found one, too much , not what I needed …..nothing
When will I learn???!!! (Rhetorical question!!)

I agree, the internet has allowed everyone to be rude.

One problem with "wanted" adds is that a person who places an add may get inundated with bogus offers from folks with little or no interaction with the forum. I have no proof of this but I would suggest putting a viable want add in the Swap Meet and see what happens. This is the only way to gauge how accurate my thoughts are on this subject.

There is nothing wrong with posting want adds but a person has to be careful in the way they handle a transaction to insure they don't get taken to the cleaners.

I think is an item is gone the seller just doesn't want to waste anymore time and deletes the messages.
I was looking - email no response - phone no call back - 2nd call Oh we decided to keep it I'll take the ad down - 3 weeks later it's still up.
2nd car email no answer - phone call did you send me an email? I'll be out of town and will get in touch when I return - not very promising. He did call I did buy he even delivered the car 200 miles for gas money.
I have a friend who is building the continuation Shelby GT350 R Models under license from Shelby American. They start with a HiPo "K" chassis. He calls on ones being offered for $75,000+ and gets no call backs even though the car is still available and he has cash in hand.

Keep trying - there are deals out there.

IMO, a response is common courtesy. It is clear that for some people, one out of two is good going and they are obviously not courteous!

Synchro….
Agreed! So with me it means no parts for them. But if they haven’t answered guess that’s moot!! I make some specific parts that are available only from me….so they need to tread carefully. No time for BS.

Could be that the person doesn’t visit the site often.

Could also be the seller does not have enough post (need 10+) so cannot respond. Does the person you are trying to contact have 10 or more post?

Well, not everyone is a jerk. Please don't punish us folks with good manners over the behavior of others. I have had pretty good luck finding some hard to find stuff through the wanted section.

In recent times 5 of 7 never responded.
I do mostly body-specific parts so Bert’s and Snyder’s will direct those seeking such to me.
Answering wanted ads is just not worth the effort and frustration.
Could be me!
