Default Y block distributor conversion




We are endeavouring to find out if it is possible to fit a single point small block distributor into a Y block.They look similar from the top side .Does anyone know if the block "V" angles are the same windsors are 90o V8s.

Hi Brian, yes it can be done, but don't waste your time on a points-type distributor. Find a Duraspark unit to make your swap and you'll love the results from the bigger plug gap and hotter spark. If I'm not mistaken, all you have to do is swap the gear from the Y-block distributor to the late Ford to run it. I believe, however, that you'll need to find a 302 distributor as the Windsor has a taller deck. For more info, visit members.aol.com/Yblock/YBLOCK.htm
